Description

Fletcher comes from a simple life, living with his large family in the town of Torvrag on Cadmie. He is an Atlach, as are his family members. His mother is chronically ill, and Fletcher supports his family with his hunts, using the profits to often ease the burden of food and medicine for them.

Fletcher discovered traveling on accident, but ever since, has used it to his advantage. Not only does he enjoy the thrill of hunting intimidating game from other worlds, but it often nets him rare and precious resources not otherwise found in Cadmie, which aid him even more in supporting his family. He often has (slightly exaggerated) tales to tell his family about his exploits, though he tries not to talk about traveling too much to them. His family knows he does this, and it's why he leaves for such long periods of time sometimes, but they don't really grasp the concept of other dimensions, and Fletcher tries not to force them to reckon with it.

Fletcher travels with an enchanted sailship, and uses summoned earth elementals to perform idle tasks for him to maintain the vessel on his own.

Despite Fletcher's use of firearms and dedication to hunting, he is markedly against the killing of sapient people, and specifically packs nonlethal munitions to use in case he gets into a rough situation with another sapient being.

Fletcher became close friends with Verity after he became stranded on Inersia and inadvertently became a pawn in Rasmuri's ploy to get Verity to allow them to turn off the Wildtouched Mortal CLockwork. Fletcher was the first person to manage to see through Verity's facade, and though he didn't exactly succeed in convincing Verity to turn the machine off, he did succeed in giving the Inersian archangels the information they needed to get him to do so: he told them that Verity still deeply respected and worshipped Cirra.

Since his excursion to Inersia, Fletcher has become a little more careful about where he makes "pit stops" during his travels, and has grown accustomed to Verity often showing up unannounced at his home on Cadmie.

Fletcher was also the person to introduce the concept of traveling to Solas, and almost certainly saved his life in doing so. Fletcher still keeps up with Solas, occasionally visiting him on Umbrafith to relax with him.
