Description

Kirk was once a regular Elven man in Achtlūn, living in the far north with his family as a caribou herder. After a Vampire attack left him wounded but still alive, he was unwittingly vampirized.

He returned to his family, expecting to return to his regular life... only for his bloodthirst to take over. Hunger got the best of him, and he unwittingly murdered them all in a feral, starving state.

After coming to his senses, Kirk was stricken with such intense grief and guilt over what he had done that his mind crumbled beneath the pressure. He convinced himself he was not a vampire, and fostered a fervent hatred for his own kind. He hunts down other vampires and brutally dispatches of them, seeing it as a form of revenge. It is unclear if Kirk fully believes it was another vampire that slaughtered his family, or if he is so deep in grief-stricken denial that his mind simply won't allow him to recall the detail that it was he who killed his family.

Regardless, Kirk does believe that he died when he was attacked by vampires, and that instead returning as a zombie or spirit, he has returned as an avenger of those killed by vampires, seeing his mission to slaughter them as a holy one. He believes he has been ordained by the eight moons of Achtlūn to cleanse the dimension of vampirekind.

Other vampires that hear of Kirk have a tendency to fear him, as they only know scant details of a vampire vigilante who kills their own kind without rhyme or reason. In addition, due to Kirk's ability to travel, he has a habit of appearing nearly anywhere in Achtlūn, further frightening other vampires. This has led to some cases of vampires even believing that Kirk is not one man, but rather, a group of people working to systematically target vampires.

Yet, despite this, Kirk struggles to target any of the noble vampires of the dimension due to their better access to resources and defensive measures, and his work has an unfortunate consequence of often targeting the most vulnerable of Achtlūn's populations: unassociated or rogue vampires, who are often themselves victims of a vampire's failed or foiled attempt to feed.

Kirk discovered traveling between dimensions on accident, and in his vengeful haze, does not fully understand that these other places are entire universes unto themselves. He simply doesn't care enough to think of them as anything deeper than "other parts of Achtlūn," or as illusory realms created by vampire lords. Whenever Kirk does travel, he typically only does so to absorb new biomass for his fleshcrafting abilities, or to kill other vampires (or, in some cases, people he merely believes are vampires).

Abilities

Vampire Physiology As an Achtlūnar Vampire, Kirk does not age and is immune to all but the mightiest curses & diseases. His physical power & speed are superhuman. He also has a set of long and sturdy fangs with serrated edges. However, he must feed on blood to survive.

High Haemomancy/Fleshcrafting. Hunting Vampires has an advantage: you can learn what they do & use it against them. Kirk has learned through exposure & self-teaching to perform highly advanced blood magic that allows the manipulation of organs, flesh, and even bone. He uses this magic primarily to empower himself, absorbing biomass from other people or even monsters in order to enhance his own abilities. This also allows him full control over his physical form, essentially making him a shapeshifter that can use any combination of the physiologies he’s absorbed over the years.

Kirk’s go-to physical traits when fighting are hooked tentacles, megafauna antlers, hardened scales, a massive mouth on his stomach, talons, a spiked tail, & acidic bile sacs in his throat.
